Chiwara House in Ann Arbor is our flagship location. We began transforming this home in 2008, and love showing how we did it. An R&D lab for permaculture design at the home scale level, the ultimate goal of this site is to demonstrate solutions in net zero, fossil fuel free food, energy, water, building, transportation, and waste.
Along the way, we’ve hosted community gatherings, trainings, workshops and K-12 courses in STEM problem based learning.
